FAQs

Where are meetings held?

All meetings are held remotely over video calls. This removes any time spent travelling and reduces the costs to you while keeping our carbon footprint as low as possible.

Do I have to pay for an initial meeting?

No, there is no cost for an initial meeting. We need to make sure that we will be able to work together moving forward – that goes both ways, of course!

What do I need to bring to an initial meeting?

You won’t need very much. It’s a chance to get to know each other and for us to begin to understand what you are looking to achieve moving forward.

How long should I allow for an initial meeting?

The familiarisation meeting will take about 45 minutes. Please click here to read more about the process as a whole and the expected timescales.

Do I have to sign up to your services at an initial meeting?

No. After the meeting, if you want to proceed, we will get the necessary next steps going. If you don’t, that’s equally okay, as this is an important decision for you. If you need some time to think, we’ll arrange a time to call you.

How can I book an initial meeting?

We make it really easy to book a meeting. Click here to book into Lucy’s diary directly.

Are you independent?

Yes. Independence is particularly important, as it means we always work for you. It also allows us to regularly review the providers and investment solutions that we use for clients.

Are you regulated?

Yes, we are an appointed representative of The On-Line Partnership Limited who are authorised and regulated by the FCA. You can find us on the FCA Register here.

Can you advise on final salary/defined benefit transfers?

No, we can’t provide advice on the suitability or potential transfer of a defined benefit pension. Instead, we can help you understand your entitlements and fully incorporate them into your financial plan.

What happens if my financial planner is away on holiday?

As a sole adviser business, this is an important question. While Lucy will always try to be on hand, she can only practice what she preaches: enjoy your life while you can. This means Lucy will occasionally completely switch off from the business. During these times, she will arrange for a trusted adviser to step in and deal with urgent queries.

What do you charge for a financial plan?

A financial plan starts at £2,900, and you can find out what that includes and how the cost is calculated here. We want to be completely open and transparent with all our costs. Please get in touch if there is anything you don’t understand.

Do you take a percentage, or are your fees fixed?

We charge fixed fees. The reasons why and the fees themselves are disclosed here. We will be completely open and transparent with all our costs. Please get in touch if there is anything you don’t understand.

Do you get commission?

No. Commission isn’t paid to us for any investment solutions. The protection and insurance side of financial advice still runs on this basis, but we have decided to have a fixed fee for insurance advice too. This results in lower monthly premiums for you and removes any risk of bias.
